Thermal leggings can double as sleeping attire as well! And luckily for you, Shawnee has a washer and dryer available (pack a laundry pod or two and a few quarters) so you can wash any items that may have been soiled during your outdoor winter adventures. You might work up a sweat, even if it’s only 30 degrees out! Layers will allow you to make yourself comfortable. Especially if you plan on taking one of our daily guided hikes. And better yet, they don’t even have to take up much space in your suitcase. We compiled a list of the best cold weather items you’ll want to bring with you to enjoy the outdoors at our historic resort. But not if you don’t have the right gear. It’s not a necessity, but more of a convenience.It is officially winter here at our Pocono’s Resort! And we have plenty of outdoor activities to keep you and your family entertained! You may be thinking, it’s cold in the Pocono’s what could I possibly want to do outside? Well, once you are here and see all the fun our other guests are having, you are going to want to partake in some of those activities. Slip-on Boots - It was nice to have a pair of boots to pull off and on easily for taking Zooey on walks around the neighborhood. It helps keep layering to a minimum and it truly makes a difference. UNIQLO - I always pack my Uniqlo HeatTech tops and leggings for my winter travels. My favorite pair of sunnies are from Diff Eyewear. Sunglasses - I wore sunglasses the majority of the time since the reflection of the snow was super bright. Sunblock - Sometimes we tend to forget that the risk of sunburn is much greater in the mountainous regions. If you don’t need anything dressy, you can’t go wrong with a classic pullover Nike sweatshirt. The key to winter layering involves 3 main partsa base. Layers give you options: you can be bundled up outdoors one minute, and chilling in a turtleneck indoors the next. I personally love the style of Bjorn Borg sweaters. My biggest piece of advice when traveling to Europe in the winter (or traveling anywhere that’s cold, quite frankly) is to wear layers. Go for something stylish and modern to wear to lunch or an afternoon event. It’s specifically designed for ultimate comfort for long hikes with water-repellent insulation.īeanies - I packed a few of these and definitely needed to wear them when the sun sent down. A sweatshirt is a winter packing list must for spending casual time indoors. Winter Hiking Boots - I purchased a pair of winter hiking boots from adidas Terrex and they were fantastic. So always having one handy during a winter trip will never hurt. Gloves - Pack waterproof gloves so you can throw those snowballs and keep your hands warm. You can wear them around your neck, your shoulders, your head and even your waist. I am a Florida resident and still find myself obsessively.
